garden volunteering - health & safety form
We aim to provide a safe and happy environment at space2grow for everyone. Health & safety risk assessments are carried out regularly and the latest versions are printed and displayed in the gardeners cabin and the talking shed.
Please take a few minutes to read and familiarise yourself with the risk assessment and also our policies. We ask in particular that you look at the ‘safe use of equipment’ policy. These policies are available for you to read on the website and also whilst you are at the acre and kept in a folder in the Gardeners Cabin.
Make sure when you are volunteering on the acre that you wear appropriate clothing according to the season (rain jackets, sun cream, hat) and appropriate footwear. Long sleeves and trousers are recommended when working in the garden. Please bring a water bottle. Tea/coffee and biscuits are supplied during the morning. If you bring food we ask that you take all rubbish away with you.
Please note for GDPR reasons we do not collect personal data in regards to medical conditions. We ask that you go at your own pace and if for any reason you are struggling that you take a break from volunteering and speak to the garden lead.
