isolate for victory

We hope everyone is managing the situation as best as can be expected. As we have sadly had to close the project during the crisis, Corin, our project manager and master of all things space2grow is kindly keeping the acre going and is getting an awful lot done. The majority of the willows have now been pollarded with their branches and fronds gathered up and placed in the stream, ready for further fencing. A vegetable bed has been created in the Secret Garden and this has been dug over and now has been planted with early season potatoes. By end of play tomorrow he hopes that a couple of the normal vegetable beds will have been planted out too so that we have a good selection of crops later in the year. Over the weekend heI'll get the flower seeds on the go too so that we have colour in our beds.

When we return one thing we would very much like to do is to have a " Homecoming Party ", as soon as it's safe to gather and enjoy ourselves again, as we think we'll have a lot of experiences we might  like to talk about. Someone that is talking about space2grow is " The Vantage " magazine as they have run a feature on us in this months edition - its a lovely piece - click here to see a larger version of the article.

One thing we thought be great for our volunteers to get involved in if they want to help Corin with his one-man job of making the acre look beautiful in the summer is to start growing from seed some plants at home that can be donated to the acre when we all return back. A nice way to all be working on something together even if it’s remotely - be great to all return with our plants and flowers for the acre.

The acre is missing every single one of it's wonderful volunteers, it's such a joyful place to be when filled with happy people - which we know it will be soon. We'll keep everyone informed as to when we can open again but please do not hesitate to get in contact if you need any help.

Keep safe. Keep well. Stay informed.
