imagine project veg beds
Fantastic work from volunteers and our partners, the boys at The Imagine Project, who have made and installed our custom veg beds and prepped the soil ready for planting....
....which have already been planted by our expert octogenarian gardeners.
bodger's progress
Our bodgers have now finished their work area, complete with cover to allow them to work in all weathers. With a supply of green wood from the recently felled willows we're looking forward to seeing and learning more about their traditional wood working and craft skills.
in the garden
More work in the sunshine on the pond. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make the pond such a lovely feature of the garden, culminating in Farnham Town Council's generous donation of a tonne of wild flower seeded soil which their team kindly spread all around the pond this week.
The before and after shots show the great progress. We just need to let nature work its magic now, for the plants and wild flowers to flourish and for wildlife to take up residence. We would very much appreciate any donations of frog spawn, if anybody has any spare.
easter fun
Children from our cooking club celebrated the final cooking session of their course with an Easter egg hunt. Smiles and chocolate all round!
coming up
Remember there are no group activities on the acre over the Easter weekend but regular users are always welcome to come down for some peace and quiet.
Our normal schedule of group activities resumes on Tuesday 6 April.
reflections from the acre
In this week's reflections, Natalie, who runs our Monday and Friday gardening groups shares what space2grow means to her.
"Coming through the wooden door onto the acre always gives me a feeling of anticipation, wonder and magic. I feel immensely privileged to be part of the space2grow community, sharing the benefits of connecting with nature throughout the seasons.
I really enjoy the accepting and non-judgemental atmosphere at space2grow. It’s wonderful to witness an eclectic group of folk of varying ages, styles and ideas coming together and creating a supportive and caring community.
I am passionate about the special place that space2grow is, and of its power and qualities. I would encourage anyone who might feel apprehensive about coming along to get in touch and organise a visit. I hope that people visiting the acre take pleasure from getting involved in a variety of tasks, working alongside different people, gaining a sense of satisfaction, achievement and a boost to their self belief."
If you would like to share what the acre means to you please email info@space2grow.space - we love hearing everyones reflections.
Like so many things in life all of the activities we provide for the local community cost money. If you are able to make a donation, however big or small please click this link to donate. https://www.space2grow.space/donate-1
As always, we are working hard to ensure that space2grow remains a Covid safe site so please email info@space2grow.space prior to your visits, bring your own food and drink, take any rubbish home and please adhere to social distancing.
Thank you and see you soon!
