still time to book for panto fun!
It's not too late to get tickets to see the Chanticleer Players performing their summer panto Rapunzel in the space2grow garden from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th July. We would love for as many regular space2growers as possible to come and enjoy this Covid secure outdoor show. We have free tickets available for the Saturday matinee at 2.30pm and the Saturday evening show at 7.30pm. Huge thanks to the Truemark Trust, based locally in Liss, for their very kind donation to support these performances.
in our garden
We'd like to say a big thank you to all of our lovely volunteers who joined Natalie's task force day and helped give the garden some tender loving care. Much weeding, tidying, trimming and pond dipping was done and the acre looked beautiful when we welcomed the judge from South and South East in Bloom. We'll let you know as soon as we hear the result!
Cooking with Coral
Traditional Cornish pasties were prepared and crimped by our Transform Housing & Support cooking club this week. Meanwhile the children from Potters Gate School cooking club harvested potatoes and spring onions to use in their cooking.
Hackney schoolchildren visit
It's almost time for the visit of two groups from London Fields School in Hackney! Just a reminder that due to safeguarding and COVID restrictions space2grow will be closed during the visit from Wednesday 14 July to midday Friday 16th July.
weekly wishlist
At space2grow we love to recycle and reuse and save money. Our various groups have created a wishlist of items that would make a real difference on the acre. If you can help by donating any of these items please email us:
wheelbarrows
water butts or suitable containers
workbench
seeds and plants
opening hours update
Our opening hours are now from 9am to 5pm. We have also taken the decision to lock the entrance door when there is no official session in progress and at night as there have been security issues with neighbouring gates being damaged. This shouldn't affect the majority of our volunteers who attend regular, organised sessions.
Don't forget space2grow is available to book at weekends during the summer for relaxing and enjoying a picnic or barbecue. Just email info@space2grow.space to book!
reflections from the acre
This week we were delighted to welcome visitors from Hart Voluntary Actionand give them a tour of space2grow. They are planning to create their own wellbeing garden and were keen to see what we have achieved. Here's what Amanda, Wellbeing Projects Manager had to say .......
"A big thank you to Nathalie, Nathan and Rob for their time today showing us around the garden and chatting with us. It was also nice to meet Richard and Tim.
It was inspirational and if we can achieve half of what you have achieved in our community garden – we will be doing well!
We hope to launch our garden in September and would love you and some of the group to come and visit us when we are up and running."
If you would like to share what the acre means to you please email info@space2grow.space - we love hearing everyones reflections.
As always, we are working hard to ensure that space2grow remains a Covid safe site so please email info@space2grow.space prior to your visits, bring your own food and drink, take any rubbish home and please adhere to social distancing.
