bonfire night fun

bonfire night fun this Friday!

Join us this Friday 5th November from 4pm to 6pm for bonfire night. We can't offer gunpowder, treason and a plot but we can offer tasty hot dogs and hot chocolate around a warming fire!
All welcome - just reply to this email to let us know you're coming so we have enough sausages!

in our garden

Lots of experimentation takes place in the space2grow garden. Sometimes with great results and other times provide valuable learning opportunities! An experiment growing parsnips in our raised beds resulted in some dramatically wonky veg so we'll be doing things differently next year. Clay soil improver versus leaf mould is another experiment currently taking place - watch this space for the outcome!

Work clearing the bamboo at the end of the garden has been completed and has unearthed a huge amount of old carpet that was used many years ago as a ground covering in the area. A tough job but our volunteers are up to the challenge, carefully moving slow worms disturbed during the work as they go.

reflections from the acre

Autumn is well and truly with us in the space2grow garden as the leaves fall. This week we're sharing a poem by Emily Brontë........

Fall leaves, fall

Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away;
Lengthen day and shorten day;
Every leaf speaks bliss to me
Fluttering from the autumn tree.
I shall smile when wreaths of snow
Blossom where the rose should grow;
I shall sing when night’s decay
Ushers in a drearier day.

If you would like to share what the acre means to you please email info@space2grow.space - we love hearing everyones reflections.
