space2breathe - up and running
space2breathe has been set up in response to the growing mental health pressures that local families are facing during lockdown. Sessions with a volunteer facilitator will take place in the Talking Shed and in and around the space2grow, providing respite for the many local parents who are struggling with working from home while trying to home-school children and look after preschoolers. We need volunteers, especially those who are DBS checked. If you would like to get involved either as a volunteer, or to book a space as a family please email space2breathefarnham@gmail.com
in the garden
Despite the freezing winter weather space2grow remained open with a socially distanced pebble painting session proving a big hit with people of all ages. One mum, who came with her young son, had this to say about her visit to the space2grow
"We both were made very welcome and we had a really brilliant time. Although I definitely need wellies. Just wanted to say space2grow is really good."
As the pond project advances, we have another request. We are hoping to edge the side and the front of the pond with a natural rockery - if you have any unwanted large stones in your garden that you would be willing to donate please email info@space2grow.space and we will arrange collection - Thank you!
…and some familiar faces popped their heads round their new shed door!
reflections from the acre
In this week's reflections trustee Nick shares his thoughts....
"I have been involved from the early rising of space2grow in the Farnham community and have watched it grow in popularity and my involvement is now to help it keep going.
space2grow has brought many and varied peoples through the door and into the garden and over time some stay and some go. Those that stay enjoy the space and benefit from finding a new belonging in the world of today."
If you would like to share what the acre means to you please email info@space2grow.space - we love hearing everyones reflections.
As always, we are working hard to ensure that space2grow remains a Covid safe site so please email info@space2grow.space prior to your visits, bring your own food and drink, take any rubbish home and please adhere to social distancing.
