In light of the current lockdown we are able to continue to offer support with a reduced schedule on the space. In order for us to maintain a safe outdoor environment we are restricting the number of volunteers in each session.
space2grow was full of fun this week with a visit from families as part of the new space2breathe initiative giving families a much needed break from home.
Following much pondering on the best approach to maximise the depth of our lovely pond our intrepid young volunteers ventured into the icy water in waders which turned out to be riddled with holes!
Despite the freezing winter weather space2grow remained open with a socially distanced pebble painting session proving a big hit with people of all ages.
We're offering free outdoor 'walk and talk' family therapy sessions to offer practical support and advice to help make family life a little happier during lockdown. Take up has been excellent, but limited sessions are available. Email us to find out more.
What a difference a couple of days can make! The week began with blue skies and a busy, socially distanced day of pond work, clearing and re-organising the greenhouses (with a very orderly new storage spot for pots in the salvage area).
Work on the pond continued this week with re-positioning of the liner. Leaves were raked and added to the leaf mulch and Frank kept everyone busy throwing his ball!
We received a wonderful new year gift! A South West Surrey Heroes Award from Jeremy Hunt for our contribution during the Covid pandemic. We're delighted and wanted to share the news with everyone involved in the project and say thank you!
