in our garden
Harvesting from the garden and sharing the bounty with volunteers and visitors.
The gardener's shed proving a popular spot for relaxing during the rain showers.
A proud mama duck brought her babies to visit the space2grow pond. So lovely to see wildlife enjoying the pond.

vote for our town
Farnham Town Council has been shortlisted for the prestigious title of Council of the Year in England’s Star Council Awards 2021. The Town Council is just one of five town/parish councils in the running for the award with the final winner to be decided by a 'peoples vote'.
Let's show our support for the town by voting. It only takes a few moments using this link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CVQVYSZ.
More information is available on the Town Council website and voting closes on 23rd August.
weekly wishlist
At space2grow we love to recycle and reuse and save money. Our various groups have created a wishlist of items that would make a real difference on the acre. If you can help by donating any of these items please email us:
large plastic tubs with lids for making organic fertiliser
files and rasps suitable for use with wood
water butts or suitable containers
workbench
seeds and plants
Our latest very kind donation - lovely trees in pots and there are larger ones to come!
reflections from the acre
Roy is a regular at our weekly Transform Housing & Support cooking club ran by Coral's Cookery School. Here are his reflections.......
"I have been coming to Coral's cooking club at space2grow since December.
I can cook - but confess that I'm lazy and frankly I don't like cooking for one person. So, it became the same old few standards trotted out. And erratically at that. Here I've become more confident with recipes, and ingredients! And since there's way too much food made for just me I share it with my neighbour, who very kindly returns the favour later in the week.
I confess that I wasn't sure about turning up the first time - I'm extremely private and wary of other people. That didn't last long - we're a disparate group with different backgrounds and issues but there's a lot of common ground there. It's interesting to meet with other people and compare notes, coping mechanisms, health problems/solutions - and if there is one overriding impression I have it's that of general chat and laughter. Something that perhaps I have missed over the last few years, but especially during the pandemic.
It's also nice to be in the middle of Farnham and yet completely away from it. I've watched the garden come along this year and it really is a sanctuary. space2grow have also put on various theatres and trips. I really liked going out to visit the Tilford Cottage garden - my second jaunt out of Farnham in 18 months!
Coral has been teaching us at an easy pace, with patience and humour, and has opened up new areas for me to investigate - I was never confident with bread and cakes. She also has some good tips - smoked paprika is your friend, oats go into crumble ... and you peel ginger with a teaspoon, forty five years I've been hacking at a root with a knife, gaaah! The best thing we've done, and we're pretty much all agreed, was the humble quiche lorraine. Superb, thanks Coral.
How has it changed me? I'm easier around other people, I'm eating better than I was before. I'm sleeping better which is a massive bonus.
It's very easy to wrap yourself in a little bubble. At space2grow you become aware that you're not alone and sharing a problem (or two) does actually help things move along. So, many thanks to Transform for chivvying me along and to space2grow and to Coral, keep on doing good deeds."
If you would like to share what the acre means to you please email info@space2grow.space - we love hearing everyones reflections.
We thought we'd share this video about cooking club made by students from University for the Creative Arts
